Give online through PlanningCenter
We have partnered with a company called PlanningCenter to make eGiving available for anyone who is interested. eGiving can be used to make regular tithes and offerings to both Westbrook and our Gente Unida Ministries. You can use this service to give to the church on a weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or a one time basis you choose the giving schedule that works best. We hope this will be a helpful tool for those of you who prefer the convenience and privacy of online banking transactions.
Your information is held securely by the PlanningCenter system. This information will remain private and will never be given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled contributions.
Below, we have prepared a list of frequently asked questions to address some questions you may have about eGiving. If you’d like additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact yessi.guzman@westbrookchurch.org or 630.759.4320.
Online Giving FAQ
Q: Are electronic contributions risky?
A: No, an electronic contribution is safer than writing a check or giving cash. A check or cash can be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. Electronic transactions are required to have your authorization before any money can be deducted.
Q: Is there any charge to me from my bank to give online?
A: No, electronic funds transfers carry no bank fees to you. You can opt to cover the processing fees to help Westbrook cover the cost.
Q: Why not just give at church?
A: Some of our people are extremely faithful and consistent in their giving at church each week. Some also want their physical act of bringing their offerings to be a part of their worship experience. Others prefer to give online as it helps them give more consistently. We want to provide options to you.
Q: Is it easy to change my amounts or to stop giving online?
A: Yes. Simply log into your eGiving account and either update or cancel your recurring or scheduled donations.
Q: How will I receive a receipt for my eGiving contributions?
A: A receipt will be sent to the email address on your account after your donation is processed. Your eGiving contributions will also be included on your annual contribution statement that is mailed to you in January of each year. In addition, you can log into your account and view a history report of your eGiving at any point in time.
Q: When would the automatic contribution be taken from my account?
A: One-time donations are processed immediately confirming the contribution. If you set up a recurring donation, you can choose weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or every two weeks. Recurring transactions will post based on the schedule that you have selected.
Q: Can I test eGiving by giving one time just to see how it works?
A: Absolutely! You will need to log in to process a one time donation. If you decide at a later date that you’d like to set up automatic giving, you can go back into your eGiving account and set-up a recurring donation. It is very easy to use.
Q: What payment method can I use to give a donation?
A: You can use your checking account, debit card or credit card. ACH transactions through your checking will incur the lowest transaction fees to Westbrook and credit cards will incur the highest fees to Westbrook. Debit cards are right in the middle. You will not be charged these fees, but can you can choose to cover the fees if you’d like.
